The Lincoln Highway Parade
Location: Downtown DeKalb, Lincoln Highway, DeKalb, IL
Date & Time: 07/27/2012 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm

The Lincoln Highway Parade is starting to become a wonderful annual event that everyone must see. Come out and see all the excitement during this fantastic evening parade as it travels down 7th street and up Lincoln Highway and ends at 2nd Street in Downtonw DeKalb. Come early to see the pre parade classic car and motorcycle cruise as they travel up and down Lincoln highway before parking at the end of the parade route (Lincoln Highway and 2nd Street). Stay late to enjoy the Street Dances immediately following the parade.

After the parade 8pm – 9pm

Stay for the street dance immediately following the parade. There will be 4 different bands playing in 4 different locations: the Egyptian Theatre, O’Leary’s Restaurant & Pub, Eduardo’s and Carcker Jax.

Talking about the right path check out this bicycle event here in DeKalb IL.  There four 25 mile loops you can ride.  Check it out here!  Ride like an Egyptian!   Only $20 by Sept 9th or $25 after that.  Not that bad for a bike event!


Jazz at the Mansion – Free Summer Concert on Monday July 23rd at 8pm-10pm.

Do you like Jazz music?  If so here is a free concert this Monday July 23rd 8pm till 10pm at the Ellwood House in DeKalb IL.  There will be big band music on the Ellwood House lawn.   The Ellwood house is located at 509 N., First in DeKalb.  It is hosted by: FunME Events it is a the Ellwood House Museum, North First Street DeKalb, IL
Via Kishwaukee Fest Site says:  Relax on Monday evening to the sweet sounds of “Z-Jazz Quartet” featuring Chicago Jazz Cabaret Singer Saalik Ziyad. This is a wonderful compilation of the sounds of the 40s-70s. The concert will be on the lawn outside the mansion; bring your snacks, chairs, blankets and family to swing into the evening.


Do you like Country Music? Then you may like this free music concert! The band Stroker Red will be playing at Hopkins Park on Sunday, July 29th at 8pm!

Do you like Country Music?  Here is a free concert held on Sunday, July 29th Stroker Red will be playing in Hopkins Park in DeKalb from 8pm until 10pm.  They are a local DeKalb band!
Note:  You can also see Stroker Red in the Kishwaukke Fest Parade, Friday July 27 at 7pm and you can see them at the Street Dance following the Parade.  For more information go here!    Stroker-Red is a Country-Rock band that plays their own type of music, covers from all genres of music but making them sound like a mix of country and blues. From Cash to Petty and from Zac Brown to Kenny Wayne Sheppard. They play what they love and it transfers to the fans that come to hear them play. Visit their facebook page for video and songs lists!
